About Us

Safe Place Therapy was founded after many clients indicated they felt unheard, unsafe, dismissed or “like a number” when talking with a counsellor. We believe that the most important things in therapy are feeling safe and being heard. As a team of highly experienced and committed practitioners, we are known for our commitment to providing counselling services that is client-centred, safe, professional, affordable and flexible. Our clinics are located in Melbourne, Australia at Footscray and Epping. We also offer online counselling Australia wide.

The Role

We are seeking fully registered Psychologists (AHPRA) or Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (AASW) with counselling experience to join our team. This role would suit both an experienced counsellor as well as an enthusiastic early career counsellor.

You can choose your days and hours you work; we ask for a minimum commitment of 2 days. Evening and weekend consulting will be highly advantageous but not essential. Multiple casual positions where you are paid per client you see, with the opportunity of part-time or full-time role.

About You

We are looking for counsellors who are empathetic, client-centred, value safety for their clients and are strong communicators, with experience and interest in:

  • Individual and relationship counselling
  • LGBTQIA+ counselling
  • EAP counselling
  • NDIS counselling
  • Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder or other personality disorders

 

We also welcome applicants with their own areas of interest to complement our existing expertise.

You will have registration with Medicare, and a current National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
